Malik Tillman appears to have confirmed that Rangers have invested the big money in him by updating his Instagram account photo to himself in a Rangers shirt.

In a decision that many fans may have an argument about, the rumours of the £5.2M deal seem to have borne fruit, and the German-born USA international is set to join Kieran Dowell as Rangers’ second attacking midfielder addition of the summer and second permanent signing.

While the money for him (and previously James Sands) was ring-fenced to the tune of a total of £10.5M, the money saved on Sands (£4.5M) can now go into summer spending, while the £6M Rangers were prepared to spend on Tillman has had almost £1M chopped off and the fee is a reported £5.2M.

And the Bayern kid appears to have made his choice, if this update is reflective of the situation.

If it is the case, Bavarian boss Thomas Tuchel clearly told Tillman he wouldn’t be in his plans this season, which was the American’s first choice. The second choice was, of course, Rangers, and manager Michael Beale was desperate to keep Tillman, considering him a massive summer priority if a deal could be done.

Well, it appears now that one was struck, unless Tillman is trolling Gers supporters, which would be an unwise move.

Ibrox Noise polled fans and the vast majority of responses were against investing that much in the 20-year-old, so if this story is true, if Tillman is indeed a permanent Rangers player for one of the biggest fees in the club’s history, he will have a lot of work to do to prove value for that especially after posting missing in so many big matches this/last season.

But we’ll see, and it would certainly confirm a plethora of options in the 10 position with easily six players available for that one single slot.

We can’t deny there’s depth there…
