Nicolas Raskin has dropped a huge hint that he’s made today’s Old Firm clash after updating his social media with a massive splash screen plugging the match and his involvement.
The Belgian midfielder was a titanic injury doubt yesterday, with a thigh strain troubling him in recent weeks, forcing him to miss a few matches, but he made Aberdeen and after coming through training it appears unscathed he may have cracked it to make Hampden.
Nothing is confirmed yet and won’t be till Rangers confirm the team sheets this afternoon, but it would be a big boost if he’s there.
Bear in mind, the image he posted only plugs the match times both here and back home in Belgium, and while showing himself in the Rangers kit doesn’t actually prove he’s fit, it is better than nothing for sure.
Rangers would be in a much stronger position for this one if Raskin is available, and the hint is a bit of welcome news given how much of a doubt he’s been.
But we’re cautious. Players have a habit of posting cryptic rubbish on social media, with Alfredo Morelos doing nothing but that for the 6 years he’s been at Ibrox – the Colombian is infamous for never saying what he thinks, and instead posting some random piece of Thomas Paine which only serves to rile fans and the media up instead and gives fuel to speculation.
We don’t know if this hint from Raskin is similar, but he has been pretty direct in the media admittedly so far, maybe being a bit too direct sometimes, but either way, Rangers fans would be delighted if he’s in the starting line-up come this early afternoon when it’s announced.
