Ibrox Noise heavily criticised the Union Bears for their antics at Hampden, and frankly in general their conduct has been poor – but it’s hard to argue with the latest banner, and it’s something Ibrox Noise have been saying ourselves since March 2020.

The argument the club ultras make is the board took its eye off the ball after 55. Well, Ibrox Noise would like to direct you to the following article we penned back then, absolutely begging the board not to fall into the ‘Liverpool trap’ of sitting on its laurels and failing to follow up the title win.

Sadly, as we know, the club most certainly did, and we were heavily critical of it, as 20/21 went Celtic’s way – the club spent more time fleecing fans of the 55 different tops to commemorate the title win, than actually properly preparing for the next season.

Winning 55 became about money making, finding merch, and pointing at ourselves and saying how great we were. Our board got lost in ego, and exploiting the title win financially, that they utterly failed to remember there was another season ahead of us.

Ibrox Noise pled with the club not to go that route, but they didn’t listen to us, they only listened to the coffers.

And here we now are. Miles behind Celtic, out of Europe, and filled with a squad of mercenaries who have zero guts at all.

The UB might not be everyone’s cup of tea, and yes, they have let themselves down badly in recent times, but they’re correct on this one and Ibrox Noise ‘told everyone so’ years ago.

Liverpool was the absolute lesson in what not to do, and Rangers decided to do exactly the same – sell as many badges and bottles with the Rangers crest on them, and ignore the necessity of readying ourselves properly for the next season.

This is a rotten Celtic, they are literally gash – but they’re ahead of us. That’s absolutely not good enough. Their players want to play for them, our players just want their paycheques each week for the most part.

Eye off the ball indeed.
