Rangers have had a helpful injury boost after Leon King’s injury before the first part of the NI U21 double header cleared up and the captain of the national U21s played the full 90 minutes of the ‘second leg’ of the friendlies.

King had been a big doubt after pulling up before the first match a week ago, but mercifully was able to get through the next fixture on the 25th meaning he will likely be completely available for the trip to Tynecastle on Saturday.

This means, along with Roofe and Lawrence he is a strong contender to play a role this weekend, and may even start alongside Connor Goldson.

Of course, most fans would like to see him (or anyone else) replace the vice captain but that’s never going to happen in a million years, so partner is the best we’ll get.

In the meantime, there’s also James Sands and Ben Davies for the slot beside the former Brighton man so Rangers do have a few options in there now, if indeed the Liverpool signing is slated as being a serious option now.

We really don’t know.

But King certainly is.

And we shall see how serious come Saturday morning.
