Ryan Porteous (and others) ready to hatchet Rangers players
GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - DECEMBER 26: Kemar Roofe of Rangers is tackled by Ryan Porteous of Hebernian during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Hibernian at Ibrox Stadium on December 26, 2020 in Glasgow, Scotland. We at Ibrox Noise have covered tomorrow’s Hibs match re: preview, re: postponement you name it – but at the end of the day, the match is going ahead and it is absolutely critical that Gio picks a fringe side, because you can be 100% certain Darren McGregor (should he play) or Ryan Porteous and one or two others will determined to become a hero at Easter Road by halving one of our stars.

We’ve been afraid of losing a key player, be it Morelos, Colak or a Lundstram for Wednesday, because Easter Road is filled with Rangers-hating hatchet men (even if Kevin Thomson thinks Ryan’s a ‘really nice lad’) eager to snuff one of our men out for midweek.

This is why, even though we predict a pretty strong XI, we’re eager to see Gio preserve the majority of the squad for PSV, and would be happy to see the likes of Tav, Barisic, Lundstram and co rested for this one, just for the sake of avoiding Porteous’ studs.

It’s all well and good saying injuries are part and parcel of football, but there are men in Easter Road more than keen to give you a few, and we do not want to lose anyone for next week.

We don’t need any help gaining more injuries than the (admittedly reducing) number we already have.

Filip Helander, John Souttar and Kemar Roofe are about our only unavailable players at the moment, so we don’t want that rising again.

And it may well at a complete battleground that is Hibs.

Will Giovanni pick our predicted team or will he take the safe option and preserve as many of his key Rangers players as possible?

We shall see.
