Borna Barisic hasn’t been quite the toast of fans this year – after the February disaster at Parkhead, a lot of supporters formally turned on him and he lost a fair bit of goodwill.

His form wasn’t the best, but the Parkhead shambles definitely saw his stock tumble among fans and many couldn’t have driven him away quick enough.

He did recover to have a solid enough end to the season, although clearly Calvin Bassey is now the star of the left side of defence – but nevertheless Borna’s time at Rangers has dried a little.

However, as part of the club’s social media drive this summer, there’s been a feature of asking players fun questions and getting their answers as short bite size segments.

Today’s question was ‘what superpower do you want and why’ and while most answers were the usual teleportation or flying, Barisic’s response was remarkably mature and showed the man in a new light.

The power to make people happy.

If ever an answer shower grace and the dignity of a Ranger, this was it.

It might be a minor thing, but it showed how much a team player Borna is, how decent a chap he actually is, and how much he wants others to be happy – and if he had any superpower, he’d choose that one.

He might not be hitting the heights of old, but when it comes to conduct and grace, he is among the best.
