“Best I’ve coached” – Gio makes bold statement on Rangers
The manager at today's presser....

GVB has today confirmed this Rangers team’s character is the best of any side he’s coached, and that includes his history-making Feyenoord side who won the Eredivisie under his charge for the first time in nearly 20 years.

The manager was previewing tomorrow’s crunch second leg with Leipzig, and in the wake of the sad passing of Jimmy Bell admitted the mood isn’t good with the players, all of whom remain in shock at what happened.

But as we’ve seen as fans, this squad has balls, and while the league may just be outwith our reach now, the character shown in Europe and in the cup has certainly been of the level we’d expect of a Rangers side, and he expects the same character tomorrow night at Ibrox.

Do it for Jimmy? Quite so. There will be a minute’s silence for the legendary kit man, and then it’s sleeves rolled up and down to business, showing the kind of character Gio talks about.

The best of any team he’s managed. And that’s high praise.
