Rangers have confirmed withdrawal of the Stavros Invitational much to the relief of supporters worldwide, after absolute derision of the original decision to take part.
The club said:
This was a claim about copyright, patent and use of the Old Firm, and seemingly the threat of Celtic withdrawing themselves over the use of the same term.
Rangers are now suggesting that the organisers made a hash of this, which in fairness they did, and the whole debacle is finally done.
Rangers are no longer playing a sham friendly to celebrate the life and works of Stavros.
Only took a few weeks…
About fuxking time …it was a silly folly. Bisgrove is top drawer but this was a fauxpas…Big time…Stavrosfest..no thanks . We are Rangers we kneel to no one but the Queen .
