Just over two weeks ago Rangers had been destroyed in the Old Firm, and Celtic were to be the new champions.

They were going to win the Europa Conference League, and Rangers were going to be obliterated by Dortmund.

They’d signed sensational players from Japan and Rangers’ January business had been a disaster.

What a difference that fortnight has made.

Celtic, yesterday, having scraped some SPL results including a skin of their teeth win over the hapless Aberdeen pre-Glass shattering, were absolutely horsed by the barely-known Bodo/Glimt (or something, do I have that right) on their own patch in front of an expectant Parkhead crowd.

Meanwhile Rangers, expected to go and be gubbed in Dortmund, instead destroyed the home side with a superior display which saw some world class performances from Ryan Kent, Ryan Jack, John Lundstram and the incredible Alfredo Morelos, to name but four.

2-4 at the Westfalenstadion which is one of the greatest European nights in the history of Scottish football.

What a difference that fortnight has made.

Sure, Celtic remain domestic favourites odds-on, but that isn’t going to last long.

Rangers ruined Dortmund without a proper defence, and scored four goals into the bargain.

Has the sea changed again?

Well, the comical part is it never actually changed in the first place – Rangers remain the number one side, and the only failing since Gio came in was the first 45 at Parkhead.

The biggest secret is the second 45 was absolutely fine, it was in fact very good, but it suffered the damage of the first.

Other than that, and a couple of admittedly ugly domestic draws, Gio’s record has been simply stunning and the club’s response to the Parkhead debacle stark and forthright.

We are the best team, and Celtic know it.

We’ve had a wobble, and now we’re back.
