Tonight’s win over Dortmund changed everything.

It’s not often we at Ibrox Noise are completely lost for words, but the destruction of one of the best 10 sides in Europe on their own patch, frankly rather comfortably, was truly up there as one of the best results in the 150 years history of Rangers FC.

It beat Lyon, it beat Leeds, and it at least matched Barca 72 as well as Florence.

It was literally incredulity that unfancied Rangers travelled to mighty Dortmund, even when they were missing Haaland, and put them to the sword.

If ever the overreaction to the bad night at Parkhead was laid bare, it’s now.

If ever Giovanni van Bronckhorst has earned the trust of fans, it’s tonight.

He took Parkhead on the chin, learned from it, and only a few weeks later has absolutely throttled one of Europe’s superpowers on their own turf.

A magical night, and it will go down in folklore.

Of course, there’s a second 90 to go, but no matter what happens at Ibrox, they can’t take this one away from us.

2-4.

  1. You’re correct. It doesn’t matter what happens at Ibrox. This is what we got tonight:
Another big UEFA pay out for a huge win and for scoring 4 goals.
A huge £2m gate money already secured for the tie at Ibrox.
Another boost to our European co-efficient.
Our name being talked about around Europe.
Players boosting their value by showing they can cut it at the top level.
Morelos didn’t get booked so is available for the second leg.
Key players like Jack and Ramsey got more minutes into their legs.
A major return to form of Ryan Kent.
    Celtic got gubbed.
    It was a good night.
