Motherwell stunner as Rangers await the Steelmen

Rangers, frankly, have absolutely no excuse not to tonk Motherwell today. Show opponent respect, of course, but looking at Graham Alexander’s men’s record in the past 2 months makes for dire reading for the Steelmen and gives a little context to the one convincing domestic result Celtic have had lately (4-0 at Fir Park).

Indeed, Motherwell haven’t won an SPL fixture since December, with Livi being the last victim back on the 26th of that month, and since then their record is literally diabolical.

This is a team who, earlier in the season, were briefly fourth in the table, but have plummeted to seventh, and are bottom of the table for form over the past 5 matches. Only hapless Aberdeen and bottom feeding Dundee are worse for the past 10.

So where there may be a bit of a Euro hangover, there’s just no legitimate reason for Rangers not to have a field day today.

After we absolutely blasted away Hearts 5-0, them being third at the time, and in good form, there’s zero excuse not to play well and win comfortably this afternoon.

To put not too fine a point on it, Motherwell are absolutely horrendous, and slipping up with a non-win would be outrageous.

It barely even matters who starts for the Famous, the chosen XI will and must win out comfortably.

But they’ll have to work – they’ll have to put in the shift. Just showing up isn’t enough.
