Today’s visit of Hearts is massively important. No matter what the Celtic result is today, Rangers must win, at all costs. We’ve only won once in the league this year (depressing stat) and it’s time we made a statement.

And that means energy, aggression, hunger and drive against a side who will go hell for leather themselves.

Which is why if we were the manager, and we aren’t, Aaron Ramsey and Amad Diallo would be nowhere near the starting XI.

This is a match for sleeves rolled up, fully-fit, minds on the job – we cannot go in with debutants or passengers.

Now, we’re not saying either Ramsey or Diallo are weak and useless, we’re just saying we need to start with players who know what today means.

Ryan Jack, Alfredo Morelos, Scott Arfield, Fashion Sakala – all hard-working players who can kick a ball a bit, and that grit will be vital for a Hearts who will hold nothing back.

If either of Ramsey or Diallo are needed later in the match, to prove themselves, fair enough, but despite their amazing market values (£80M combined) we’d rather select players with sleeves rolled up.

That’s why Ibrox Noise would pick:

McGregor in goal, back four of Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun and Bassey, midfield 3 of Jack, Arfield and Aribo, and three up top of Sakala, Morelos and Roofe.

We’ll need dig, grunt and no lack of ability to get the three points.

And it’s not the match for us to ‘experiment’ in.

But we’ll see if Gio agrees.
