Rangers are making major moves in the January transfer window following the floodgates opening after Nathan Patterson was sold to Everton.

The Famous currently have two reported significant bids made to secure Hearts’ John Souttar, and Bologna’s Andreas Skov Olsen, following the arrival of USA international James Sands, as Giovanni van Bronckhorst bids to strengthen the side for the second half of the season.

Souttar is said to be a potential pre-contract, but he’s one Gio would rather have now, so we’ll see how it evolves should the 25-year old defender be interested in the move.

And ASO is said to be mulling his options over after reports from Italy alleged Rangers matched Bologna’s asking price for the winger, albeit claims today suggest no bid has been made.

Either way, there are many moves being made, one already completed, and GVB is taking very seriously the second half of the season and enhancing the squad.

Souttar’s numbers this season are solid, being second top for blocks in the whole division, and one of the highest ranked for clearances. He’s widely regarded as one of the SPL’s best defenders outside the Old Firm, and would be somewhere between squad member and starter at Ibrox.

As for Skov Olsen, he’s one Rangers have been after for a long time, and we know the talents the lad has, but whether or not we’ve put a bid out, he will have plenty of sides courting him and we would love to be the one that secures him. He’s definitely considering his options at present.

More as we get it at this exciting transfer January window.
