Rangers have three main January targets – and here they are

It appears Rangers’ 3 main January targets, on top of James Sands, are formally John Souttar, Danilho Doekhi and Andreas Skov Olsen.

Ibrox Noise takes you through each of these players, and how strong the chances of getting them are.

Souttar:

Well-rated in Scottish football these days, Souttar is regarded as probably the best CB outside the Old Firm. Thing is, he has just a handful caps for his country which gives some indication of his injury history and the esteem Scotland bosses may hold him in. His numbers for Hearts are good, in truth, and at 25 he’s pretty young for a defender. Rangers are understood to be preparing a pre-contract for him to arrive in the summer. He just has to make his choice now.

Doehki:

He’s admitted he wants to come, GVB is said to be aware of the player, and he’s another pre-contract. His current side, Vitesse, are looking a good bet for European places and won’t want to lose him in January which could scupper those ambitions. But Rangers could still put in a small offer and nab him now.

Skov Olsen:

Some reports are claiming Bologna now want £7.5M for Olsen, which is curious given he’s completely out of form, favour, and is surplus to Sinisa Mihajlovic. Earlier information said they wanted £5M give or take, so we’re not sure why they’d hike the price all of a sudden. If they have, he’s probably outside our budget, but it’s a story continuing on.

We’ll say this, if we end January with Sands, Doehki, Souttar and Skov Olsen, there will be few Rangers fans unhappy with that.
