The long-lasting Rangers’ exile from the summer’s competitions, aside Glen Kamara, was finally ended last night after Alfredo Morelos finally got some minutes as a sub in Colombia’s latest lost to Peru.

The Coffee Men went down in a surprise defeat but how did Morelos do?

Well, 10 minutes isn’t a lot of time for him to make an impact, and this was their third match in the tournament, so he was very eager to impress.

Unfortunately he didn’t get a lot of the ball and certainly didn’t get many chances to score.

Under this new coach Colombia appear completely lacking in conviction – tonnes of the ball, but no end product and just two goals, only one of which is from a striker, shows they’re struggling to be clinical.

We want to say this is the result of not playing Morelos, and we have no idea how immature that would sound, but the rest of their front men clearly aren’t doing the business.

They had 12 shots last night, and got 4 of them on target, but it wasn’t enough – Morelos didn’t manage any shots at all, because he got effectively no service and really had too little time.

Wouldn’t be at all shocked if he starts the next one because whatever this Colombia side are doing isn’t working.

They’re losing to Peru for heaven’s sake.
