Alfredo Morelos’ discouraging Copa America streak continued after the Rangers striker, an unused sub v Ecuador in the opening match, was excluded completely for the Venezuela draw.

Rangers’ star striker follows the long line of Ibrox disappointments at this summer’s football championships in South America and Europe with only Glen Kamara getting any starts at all – the Fin is of course shining for his nation.

But Morelos has been overlooked twice, and whether his total exclusion was injury-related for the second clash v Venezuela we couldn’t quite tell you, but either way it’s disquieting at best.

These summer tournaments were to help these players achieve dreams, as well as helping their value increase as Rangers assets.

Only Kamara has benefited from this, with every other Rangers player chosen for these tournaments either injured, or excluded from match day.

It’s more than a bit disappointing that both tournaments have entered their second wave of fixtures and Filip Helander, Borna Barisic, Jon McLaughlin, Nathan Patterson and Morelos have not had a minute on the pitch.

Hopefully we’ll find out more about el-bufalo’s absence. And hopefully it makes complete sense…

  1. I hope I’m not looking at this with a distorted lense but I feel some sort of angle or reluctance/grudge against the Famous after the Kamara Racism …whilst they all spin the we support bullshit …I’m not sure, I hope I’m not wrong but Barasic definitely because of the Kudela disgrace …perhaps Morelos too ..the Scottish reluctance is down the Clarke wretch and his Rangers hatred .
