We’re going to tackle this head on because regulars will know we don’t shy away from it – there were thousands of fans who behaved as the club would expect yesterday and honoured the name of the Famous.
There were, however, a minority of thugs who stained the jersey and their peers by behaving in an atrocious manner which, and we’ve not checked, we’re sure is all over the Sunday morning rags.
Anyone who wasn’t there will know several people who were, and anyone who was will have witnessed it themselves – the police struggling to maintain the brewing trouble and the scuffles that broke out.
There was just simply no need for this, on a day of celebration, for a handful of morons to ruin the fan day by knocking lumps out of each other – we understand at least one wound up in hospital.
And naturally the press will be all over it, highlighting what ‘the fans did’ (not just a minority) and not our glorious trophy presentation.
How dare these fans besmirch the name and the day – they scared hundreds of honest fans around them, this was staggeringly selfish behaviour which smeared trophy day and will be all the rags look at.
This is all we’re going to say on this – if you stained the day yesterday, you’re not one of us and you don’t care about the Famous.
And you sure as hell need to grow up.
I’m afraid this was entirely predictable and sad. There is an element of mindless thugs amongst our support which should be rooted out. They have once again brought shame and embarrassment to our club and I hope the police and the courts bring down the full force of the law against them. Likewise the club should do everything they can to give lifetime bans to anyone found guilty. Shameful but these idiots don’t have a brain cell amongst them to realise the damage they do. If it’s you why don’t you piss off and leave the club to people that really care.
