The BBC have finally ‘confirmed’ Rangers’ 55th title in yet another change to their previously more bitter stance of the past.

The Beeb, commonly aligning themselves with Celtic in the recent past, would revert to ‘newco’ this and ‘2012’ that, rarely acknowledging Rangers’ real age or number of trophies, but today that has changed.

The BBC’s Clive Lindsay put it thus:

“Peerless Rangers swept aside Aberdeen to end the Scottish Premiership term unbeaten before officially lifting the Scottish title for the 55th time.”

In the BBC’s own words, this was clearly Rangers’ 55th title, making us very much the same club we’ve always been despite left wing republican views to the contrary.

There is a definite sea change in the media, and while there’s still some ways to go, having the BBC fall in line and state the truth rather than their version of it is a welcome change.

That said, we doubt it’ll change many supporters’ minds about them.
