Uefa love the Rangers as they pick more of our stars for honours
Wonderful stuff. Again!

Rangers’ star pair of last Thursday Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent were named in Uefa’s Team of the Week for the Europa League while Morelos also finished runner up to Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the Player of the Week standings.

The gongs, given at the end of the week for the previous day’s action, saw both players rewarded for outstanding performances against Antwerp, and while it was glorious to see Ryan Kent clearly back to his best and thriving on confidence, it was Morelos’ place as second only to the Gabonese striker which continued to show just what an asset the Colombian has returned to being.

Alfie of course had a forgettable 2020, but has been showing signs of spluttering back to life in 2021, and the past month has seen a number of excellent displays, resulting in probably his best career outing to date against the Belgians, while winger Kent also thrived wonderfully in the return leg as well.

This only makes light work of comical valuations of Morelos in the ~£10M range by mischief-makers, and demonstrates that only a £60M striker in Aubameyang was rated as better than Rangers’ lynchpin.

As for Kent? It’s a joy to see him at his best again – assisting, creating, scoring, running, and back to beating men with ease, we’re very much seeing the former Liverpool winger play with a spring in his step, and his achievements last week were entirely recognised and plastered all over Uefa’s site for us all to marvel at.

These two are some of Rangers’ most alpha assets, when they’re in the zone – and it’s great to see that happen again.
