Rangers stars Filip Helander and Jermain Defoe have given telling insights into their team mates as both picked Steven Davis to be a future manager and Ryan Kent as the fastest player at Ibrox.
The new series on RTV discussing the traits (both positive and negative) of the squad sees various players revealing who’s the toughest, quickest and most vocal, among many useful titbits.
The most intriguing was who they both picked as most vocal – Helander, being ‘polite’, picked the captain, who we all know is not the most vocal by a long way, but Defoe, older, wiser, and with nothing to lose in being honest, confirmed it is actually Connor Goldson who is the biggest voice on the pitch and indeed off it.
Other interesting nuggets of wisdom saw both players reveal the best trainer is Ryan Jack, the toughest player is Niko Katic and Jack, and that the most skilful is Defoe himself along with Kent.
It’s an interesting series alright, and gives us a telling glimpse not only into how we see the squad, but how the players themselves do.
We will have some further breakdown of this very intriguing collection throughout the day, but the most curious was that rather than it even being McGregor as the most vocal, Defoe picked Goldson.
And we’ll have more on that later.
