Good news keeps coming for Gers as Stevie gives BIG February boost
GLASGOW, SCOTLAND - OCTOBER 01: Scott Arfield of Rangers celebrates after scoring his team's first goal during the UEFA Europa League play-off match between Rangers and Galatasaray at Ibrox Stadium on October 01, 2020 in Glasgow, Scotland. While the long term loss of Niko Katic is a very nasty blow, the news was definitely tempered by the imminent return of the most important player at Ibrox.

Scott Arfield, such a stellar performer, has been sorely missed in recent times even if the results withheld his absence, and having him back will give such badly-needed link up up front as well as work ethic in the middle.

“[Scott Arfield] is due to start coming back into the group at the end of the week and really pleased it has gone to plan, the medical team have done a great job and he should hopefully be available for the European games.”

This really is delightful news – his recovery has gone to schedule, and as we suggested some weeks ago, we expected him to be out till deep into this month, and that’s panned out.

His training resumes around Thursday or Friday and it’s a case then of getting the running in his legs again so he’s available for the trip to Belgium to face Antwerp on the 18th.

There are some small hopes he could be fit before then, but Rangers would prefer to have him primed up for the big last 32 clash.

And that’s fair enough – Rangers have coped in his absence, but as the majority of fans would tell you, we’re just a better team with him (and Ryan Jack) in the side.

Thankfully fans won’t have to wait much longer to see Scotty in action in again.

  1. All of the articles around our team and our key assets are very satisfying , because it shows how our stature is returned to what it used to be, it’s great . We have quality throughout the squad and the recent arrivals will add to that growth and quality . Scott Arfield is like Steven Davis a consummate professional footballer who enjoys every last kick he can have . Can you imagine what a younger version of each would be on the open market today. Welcome back Scott enjoy the eventual glory with the whole of Rangers that you have helped to create in 55.
