Media attack on Rangers as Celtic get let off

Rangers fans were left reeling today after Sky Sports decided to make some naughty Rangers chants their headline story rather than leading with the growing fury of Celtic’s flagrant disregard for protocol amidst their controversial trip to Dubai.

The article, covering both issues, decided a few unwanted songs being aimed at those poor Celtic players was a far bigger deal than the defiance of a national emergency as perpetrated by the Parkhead side.

Don’t get me wrong, the chants a portion of our fans hurled at the visitors on Saturday were unacceptable, but typical media to decide that’s more important and worth leading with over an issue of national health and concern.

Rangers will always be the headline story in Scotland – even when Celtic are falling apart, what is going on at Ibrox is much more important to the media, to the authorities, to everyone – and while there’s been a tonne of banter over Celtic’s frolics around the pool, the most we got from the government was ‘they’re a bit naughty’ as opposed to the charges a couple of silly songs from our fans will attract.

Still, it’s always all about the Rangers and always will be.

  2. Still, it would be better if fans didn’t sing these “silly songs” and let the media turn the spotlight away from them and their troubles.
On another matter why hasn’t Lennon been called up by the Compliance Officer after clear criticism of the referee and linesman after Saturday’s match. Gerrard was called up for much less. PS that was a rhetorical question. I know the answer.
