As many fans will know Rangers are heavily linked with Amiens’ midfielder Bongani Zungu, and recently Ibrox Noise did a piece on who we suggested he could be replacing in Rangers’ midfield.
Our conclusion was more that he’d take up the spot of rotation when one of the likes of Davis, Arfield or Jack wasn’t available – but there was also another solution provided by you:
When it came to dispensable and expendable, the Finn seemed to be the one fans namedropped most as happily selling or replacing with the South African.
Indeed, Joe Aribo might not have consistently sparkled last season , but his performances in Lyon have bought him some goodwill and fans seemed more keen to see him more prominently, but Kamara appears to be lacking that support overall.
When we asked who loses their place in the event of the midfielder joining, it really was the ex-Dundee man most vulnerable to ‘surplus’, especially given there’s been interest in him particularly from Marseille. It appears fans would rather have the money.
But the wider picture suggests Kamara is considered the least valuable of the main circle of midfielders Stevie rotates between, and given his overall inconsistency since joining, it’s not really that surprising.
He’s a player who we feel could be better, but he’s been at Ibrox for a long enough time now to suggest we might not see that improvement in our colours.
Will Zungu replace him? Time will tell.
