Steven Gerrard ‘reveals’ position on Barisic, Goldson and Morelos

Steven Gerrard has effectively confirmed that only ‘crazy money’ will see any of his favoured assets leave this month, after Connor Goldson became the latest player linked out.

Gerrard has seen James Tavernier, Glen Kamara, Goldson, Borna Barisic, Joe Aribo, Alfredo Morelos and Jordan Jones all linked with big-money sales but following his rebuke upon Morelos, Barisic, and reportedly now Goldson, the stance confirms no one will leave unless an utterly ridiculous bid is made.

Rangers, despite the accounts being in the red right now, are financially strong enough to say no to anything that isn’t ludicrous, which means unless a bid over £20M comes in for certain players and over £40M for others, no one will even be considered for a sale.

Certainly none of the important players anyway.

It’s been a January filled with rife speculation about big sales and purchases, but so far, nothing remotely significant has happened either way and it may well be set to be a quiet quiet transfer window.

The squad as a whole probably does need improved, and tomorrow’s clash with Stranraer will give Stevie an idea of what fringe players are good enough to deputise or even be ‘promoted’.

  1. Personally, I don't think we should let 'anybody' leave, until the summer. We work towards our own agenda, not the Galliarossi or anybody else.

  2. We cannot lose these guys we need them if we want to be able to win leagues and cups and be a team to be feared again in europe
