One in one out – confirmed Rangers movement

Rangers have made one signing and one exit in the past 24 hours with two youth switches at Auchenhowie.

Highly rated Nicky Hogarth has been given a 6-month loan till the end of the season, the 18-year old keeper switching to Stirling Albion to get him some senior minutes at Scotland’s lowest tier for the Binos, and we wish him luck and a good education down there.

Meanwhile, coming the other way is Motherwell graduate Kyle Semple. The 16 year old defender, best known for operating on the left side of the back four, arrives at Rangers’ academy for a reported five figure sum and is expected to deliver at a high level with lofty expectations of the strongly-rated young stopper.

Semple is likely to be a direct replacement after Leon King was recently unable to come to terms with the club regarding a new contract, and appears to be headed out with Man City keeping tabs on him.

While highly sought, Rangers won’t be held to ransom on King and if we are consigned to losing him, Semple is a ready-made replacement at modest cost.

More as it comes in.
