£25M bids for Alfredo Morelos – bidding war starts

As the January window nears an end, the Alfredo Morelos stories have ramped up to fever pitch.

The two big names that keep being mentioned remain Inter and Sevilla – Sky Sports claim Inter’s interest never really was and they’ve moved onto Llorente or Giroud anyway, but the bid amount was suggested at £25M.

However, with Spanish giants Sevilla joining the chase, their offer is reported to be the same – £25M.

The question is would Rangers even entertain that amount for the most lucrative player in Scotland and one of the hottest names in the UK?

We said before that the club have confirmed only a ‘crazy’ amount will persuade them to sell, but £25M doesn’t exactly strike us as close to that.

Steven Gerrard has stated, categorically, that Morelos will not be sold. Save, of course, for that insane amount.

£25M just isn’t. Double, maybe, maybe, but never £25M.

Wait another 7 days for these stories to go madder and madder as the media plugs the Colombian up more and more for a sale.

  1. By the end of this season , with hopefully the title in the bag and Morelos on 40/50 goals in all competitions, Rangers can pin a price on him ! £40m plus for starters . Every top team is crying out for goalscorers atm and that's a box he certainly ticks . If he gets his card count down you can add another £10m to that

  2. Theres no £25m bids. Its simply media using 'wording' and unnamed sources to suggest someone is 'considering' bids. The media know that for both us and Celtic mention a high price tag, especially for Morelos gets their click bait out there and advertisers are loving that. Thats why every week media is shouting out the likes of Barcelona (i bet scottish media went looking for that comment). The wee man is great but he needs to prove himself and behaviour (vastly improved) before he can even think of the really top clubs.

    • These story's are really starting to get under my skin.
Gerrards task was simple when he put pen to paper. Bring glory back to rangers and put a hault to the 9 in a row challange.
We are no different to any other team looking for a world class finisher. Thing is though, we already have one in our dressing room. I may be wrong but if I were gerrard then it would speak volumes to me with regards to the trust he can have in the board. Is that a risk Worth taking.
Alfredo makes headlines and these idiot journalist's are only trying to sell news papers.

    • Completely agree, although i disagree with the stupid media stories England has completely distorted the transfer market and Scottish teams should apply those principles back to them. The EPL model isnt sustainable.

  3. What faith can gerrard have in the ibrox board if they sell his star player from under his nose. Gerrard instruction were simple when he signed up. Bring trophies back to the club and the board would back him 100%.
Selling Alfredo will speak volumes to gerrard. For the time being, the gers just need to stick to the plan

  4. Gerrards task when he took the rangers hot seat was simple. Bring glory back to rangers. It will surely speak volumes to gerrard if the board sell his star man from under his nose. If we loose Alfredo then what else do we risk. Stick to the plan. Stop the nine in a row threat from our good friends. Like every other club claiming they need a world class finisher, so do we and he's already on our books.

  5. Unfortunately I think in the summer we'll loose Alfredo as it will b his agent looking for a massive payday but I don't think he's going anywhere in this window as if we're to win league advance in Europe everyone from the board to knows we need him the money from either league or good run in Europe would balance any amount from sale WATP
