Rangers five-man injury update

Rangers’ injury situation continues to be an area of disappointment and curiosity right now. While fans have welcomed back long-term absentee Graham Dorrans and short-term Ovie Ejaria, a number of other players have been blighted and latest information we have is not overly positive for the majority.

Here’s your Ibrox Noise guide to who’s who:

Eros Grezda:

Still working on fitness, the Albanian was excluded from the squad today and Ayr will come too soon for him. Hopes are he will be ready for Livingston.

Ryan Jack:

Becoming more worrying than first-feared, Jack picked up a calf strain on Scotland duty and hasn’t played or even trained a minute since. Latest info is the medical staff are doing all they can to get him fit but there is no exact ETA at present.

Gareth McAuley:

Similarly worrying, the Norn Iron captain picked up an injury on duty with his country, and doesn’t appear to be anywhere near a return right now. More news on this one as we get it.

James Tavernier:

Was taken off today with a niggle, and we hope it’s not significant enough to rule him out of Wednesday.

Jordan Rossiter:

Unknown – excluded from the Ayr trip like he was today and was for the reserve match last week, Rossiter’s status continues to be an area of much contention and no one appears to have the first clue when he will be available.

We’ll have more on the game in due course.
