Rangers star makes interesting claim about team mate

Rangers striker Jason Cummings has made an intriguing claim about striking partner Alfredo Morelos, as the two look to build up a chemistry following a decent start to life as a pair at Somerset Park.

Discussing the linguistic problems in communicating with a guy who speaks no English, Cummings made the claim that el Buffalo is hoodwinking his team mates by ‘pretending’ he knows less English than in fact he does!

The Scotland cap said:

“I think Alfredo knows more English than he lets on – he picks and chooses when he wants to listen.”

Having been in Britain for around eight months, it seems pretty clear that any player worth their salt, and Morelos is, would definitely pick up plenty of the language in order to communicate – but there are certainly advantages to ‘pretending’ you know less than you do, as Cummings has testified.

Either way, it is a partnership we look forward to watching – Cummings is the kind to get behind defenders and dribble past them, while Morelos plays a little deeper and holds the ball up more tangibly while bursting into the box and doing a lot of the grunt work.

The one flaw, as manager Graeme Murty did attest, is that both do make some similar runs so could end up getting in one another’s way a few times.

But these are kinks and they can be ironed out.
