So here we go, it’s time for Ibrox Noise to make our predicted XI for Saturday, to try to get into the mind of Rangers manager Philippe Clement and have a wild stab in the dark of who we think he’ll pick to take the field at Parkhead.

In goals is obvious – Super Jack Butland.

Back four is already tricky without knowing if Leon Balogun is fit for this one. We have the feeling he’ll miss it, and information is he’s done for the season.

Which leaves just two defenders fit, unless we dip into the reserves.

So it has to be Tavernier, Souttar, Davies and Ridvan

Honestly, not a horrible defence, but it will have to work hard – and just because a lot of fans don’t rate Davies doesn’t stop him actually being the best defender we have when it comes to ball work, passing and retention. That he’s not big and strong is fine, we have Souttar for that.

Ridvan HAS to make it, and we’re praying Clement takes the risk, and yes, this time it’s a risk we endorse him making, unlike Oscar Cortes v Killie earlier this year. He’s the only LB we have, Borna is just absolutely mince and Sterling isn’t a LB.

Midfield?

It’s Lunny and Dio, whether or not we want that. Clement won’t drop Lunny for this one, and Dio has been an ever-starter when fit. We’d have Sterling but he won’t get that position.

Attacking midfield?

On the left it’ll be Silva, simple as. There’s no one else, as we illustrated earlier. The only other LW options are Lawrence and Sterling. That’s how thin it is.

RW? Sterling. Clement will want Sterling’s physicality to get at Greg Taylor, even though he’s absolutely hopeless in the position and can’t dribble. Taylor will be no match for his power, but he’s much quicker so it’s not a good piece of management.

Middle it has to be Cantwell, there’s no one else bar Lawrence, and Lawrence is a rotten starter.

Striker?

Clearly Cyriel Dessers – we want the man to get his Old Firm goal, he’s earned one and he’s the best striker in the SPL these days aside Miovski and of course Shankland.

So, your Ibrox Noise predicted XI:

Butland; Tavernier, Souttar, Davies, Ridvan; Lundstram, Diomande; Sterling, Cantwell, Silva; Dessers.

We think that will be the team, but we think it’s a million miles from a winning team and Clement will get it wrong again with this one.

We’d love to look silly when the team is announced.
