After the Dundee debacle of Sunday, it’s safe to say no one at Ibrox is happy with the Dens Park side’s conduct.

Managing Director, John Nelms, who’s American, incidentally, had no apology for the shambles, and blamed everyone else for what happened, including Sky Sports, the referees and even Mother Nature.

This has led to much disgust from Rangers fans and the club in general, given their rather shoddy handling of the affair, and in an Ibrox Noise poll on whether Dundee should be punished with a forfeiture of the fixture, the answer was an overwhelming yes.

While there was a sizable quarter or so who felt the match should still go ahead, the strong majority believed Dundee should be punished and the match should be ditched with a 0-3 score to Rangers.

There were those who wanted to win the match fair and square, but they would probably be the same ones quite happy to accept and abandonment three points if an opponent got 4 men sent off, as per the rules.

What Dundee did wasn’t strictly against any written rules, it was just plain rude and incompetent, not to mention incredibly discourteous and cost a lot of Rangers fans a lot of money. And, for that matter, the club.

Is there grounds for legal action? No, not really – as we say, no rules were broken, just the ‘rules’ of decency and etiquette.

As for Ibrox Noise’s own stance on this issue, would we want a forfeiture and the 3 points?

Honestly, with Europe now out of the equation, there is space one midweek to fill in with this one, and Sky Sports will also demand it’s played because they’ve paid for the rights.

Would we rather be just given the 3 points? Sure, it would be easier, but one or two fans did make a point about Celtic’s asterisked 8IAR where they were gifted the title via a vote.

We don’t want gifted things, but at the same time, this isn’t a gift – it’s a punishment to Dundee for being absolutely appalling and being repeat offenders at this.

It was bad enough them doing this several times this season, but they really poked the bear this time.

But it will just be rescheduled, and there will be bad blood about it.
