There is no doubt Rangers must deliver a statement tonight. We simply won’t have the snowflake supporters who only need/want a win in this one, Philippe Clement has come too far in too short a space of time to have a 1-0 win (or worse) over the most hapless side in the Scottish Premiership right now and remain second in the table.
No, we want absolute minimum of 3-0, anything less and we’re not on top of the table outright, and it’s either neck and neck on every front (2-0) or remains ‘them lot’ who edge it.
We know the usual lot will be ‘just get the win’ mentality, but we at Ibrox Noise expect more, sorry, we do.
We expect the several goals, because that’s top of the table, and it’s a gigantic statement to go top for the first time in 2 full years only 4 months into Clement’s reign at Ibrox.
He’s absolutely right himself to publicly dismiss that, to reject any talk of being top of the table or even looking at the table, because that’s not his remit or his job.
His job and his squad’s job is to win matches.
But this match means a little more than usual, and it’s against a truly abysmal side who can’t buy a win.
If Motherwell can pick up 5 at home without reply v County, there’s ZERO excuse for Rangers not to do the same. They’ve conceded 9 goals in 4 matches, and they’re absolutely diabolical.
They’re so bad even Celtic were able to beat them recently.
Which gives Rangers no excuse.
We’re not Motherwell, we’re a tonne better than Motherwell, and while, yes, County will be low-blocking for their little lives, Rangers have enough in our armaments to be able to put 3+ past them.
Rangers simply have to be top of the table tonight.
Have to be.
