Rangers fans have overwhelmingly voted that Philippe Clement should bring Romanian Ianis Hagi back to Ibrox in some surprising numbers which demonstrate that the majority rate the playmaker.

In an Ibrox Noise poll, we asked if he was someone fans wanted to see back in Govan, and the result really was emphatic.

Of 1700 votes and counting, 74% wanted Hagi back at Rangers and only 26% (427 votes) said they didn’t.

Ibrox Noise published an article yesterday explaining how poor Hagi has been, how much he wanted away, how much he ‘spat’ at Rangers with his words in Spain, and how entitled he was to play.

Despite those factors, despite Rangers now having an in-form again Todd Cantwell, Tom Lawrence and new signing Mohamed Diomande effectively competing for the 10 slot, the fans for the majority appear to want the ex-Genk man back.

We must admit, we respect everyone’s opinion here, but we have to disagree with this one.

Hagi burned his bridges long ago, and did so more than once, and hasn’t even been any good in Spain to justify his being brought back, so we can definitely say that a lot of supporters are still in 55, and thinking of the Hagi that was half decent all those three years ago now.

That said, if Philippe Clement agrees with those fans, that the manager wants Hagi back, we’d naturally respect and kowtow to that opinion.

But we do think this is one of those occasions where the majority might not entirely be thinking with their heads.

The decision, as always, rests with the manager.
