Well let us tell you Sunderland fans aren’t terribly happy with the news of their new manager…
Yes, Michael Beale will be taking over at the Stadium of Light, and Daniel McCallum, editor of A Love Supreme, Sunderland’s award-winning Fanzine, tells Ibrox Noise that he and his fellow fans aren’t too thrilled at this appointment.
Ibrox Noise was initially supportive of Michael Beale, having been fooled by his QPR record, heck, even Wolves were fooled by that, but the way he handled his exit from Loftus Road was already a very bad sign about the man’s integrity.
And with Rangers now mercifully free of his toxic influence, if sadly, not his legacy, Sunderland get to be his next victims as club chiefs move in on appointing him.
We must admit, slightly and modestly, we will be fractionally curious to see how he gets on down there… he excelled for QPR but the pressure at Loftus Road isn’t what it is in Sunderland, with a level of expectation there a bit more like what it is at Rangers.
It’s also hard to wish him the best because these would be artificial sentiments – we don’t wish harm on the man but if someone did fancy giving him a bit of a slap we might not be that sad about it.
We have no grip or quarrel with Sunderland, but they really are making a horrible mistake.
Beale shouldn’t be a manager of anyone – he’s not mentally, emotionally, or psychologically capable of it.
He’s fine as an assistant, not making the decisions and only occasionally speaking to the press, but as the top man, it’s just not for him.
So… one eye will definitely keep abreast of how it goes down there…
