Rangers eventually ran out comfortable winners at Livi avoiding a perilous Euro hangover as a VAR-ridden afternoon saw two goals ruled out and a penalty missed.

Ibrox Noise brings you our scores for a big 3 points going into the international break.

Butland:

Had absolutely no saves of gravity to make as Livi offered little threat. A quiet one for Rangers’ number one who spent more time listening to his song and the drums than saving shots or even making claims. Assured enough in what he needed to do. 6

Tavernier:

A missed penalty then a scored penalty, offering zero as a defender but wasn’t called into action with a limp Livi attack. Was seen ball watching a few times for attacks which came to nothing and swung 9 crosses in at the other end. 6

Goldson:

Quiet and not really called into much action and was unlucky to lose his goal… 6

Balogun:

…Mainly because the big Nigerian was doing all of it. 5 clearances, 2 interceptions and 2 tackles plus 2 injuries because Rangers’ main man at the back was doing all the work. Another strong display as he bosses the SPL. 8

Barisic:

Quietly fine, not an effective or ‘loud’ performance from him but when is it ever. Competent throughout. 6

Lundstram:

Far better display than his quiet showing midweek, heavily involved, tonnes of accurate finding of passes and defensively well-positioned, but not needed for ‘interventions’. Quite an easy match for him in many ways. 7

Jack:

Faded dramatically midweek and did it again here, didn’t really offer much at all and it was easy to forget he was even on the pitch. 5

McCausland:

Lively to begin with, lots of running and young energy, and showed a lot of trickery as well. Very unlucky to lose a goal through VAR. But did dive for a penalty and can’t use age as an excuse. He’s 20. Should know better. Faded as match wore on but was clearly hungry. Potential is there. 7

Lawrence:

Showed intelligence many times, sees passes others don’t and played a big role in Dessers’ goal with a brilliant pick out. As he gets more and more fitness back he may just become a very key player. 8

Sima:

Poor passing, 3 wild shots, and just one dribble and is definitely not in the sparkling form of October. Single assist in the last 5 matches now as his play dips, albeit is picking up more defending in there too. 6

Dessers:

As much hate as this guy keeps attracting you can’t argue with the facts. He’s scored 2 in his last 4 now, had 4 shots in this one (just one miss) and won a couple in the air. He’s not composed on the ball, we concede that, but it doesn’t matter. What he’s doing is contributing to this team winning football matches. And that’s what matters. 7

Subs:

Danilo:

Ineffectual – couple of shots, poor passing, clearly didn’t like the surface. 5

Cantwell:

Beginning to show a real attitude problem is Todd, for all the progress he made v Sparta, his growing petulance let him down and he picked up a stupid booking. Made 100% passing but we feel this guy isn’t far away from a red card for idiocy. 5

Rest of the subs just sealed the win.

Manager:

Clement made a few changes, giving young McCausland a start, and he seized the chance – Tom Lawrence took his too. He didn’t have a lot to complain about really, his team did the job post-Europe and that’s what he wanted. Not a stunning display, but a controlled one. He’ll be fairly content if not so much with the ‘lost’ goals. 7
