Rangers fans are today raging at outgoing winger Ryan Kent after the 26-year-old went against club protocol and chose not to wear club colours for his farewell bow.

The exiting attacker, not the most popular of players in recent months, appeared to be a lost member of East 17 as he seemed more ready to ‘collect the gear’ than to say goodbye to supporters in official club clothing.

Many pointed to Filip Helander who was completely kitted out in Rangers colours with the full regalia, while Kent, in his hoody and trackies seemed more ready to hang with his mates at the skate park.

In truth, some fans didn’t seem bothered about this, and wondered what the fuss was with the guy dressing up like ET, but nevertheless, for the occasion of his final appearance at Ibrox, we do feel Kent could have put in a bit more effort.

There may have been some legitimate reason, perhaps Big Fil got the last tracksuit, who knows. But it wasn’t a good look and sadly sums up how many Rangers fans feel about the attacker these days.

It is well-known these days that Kent was indeed fed up with Scottish football and wanted a change – it killed his motivation and unless a bid came in and got him out of our league, he was doing a ‘Glen Kamara’ and rather downing tools till the end of his contract.

In fairness though, as we’ve demonstrated many times, his stats were far from poor, but the rip-roaring Celtic-killing Borussia-destroying winger he was only a year ago does seem quite a distance away now, and it was certainly best for all parties that he moved on.

But he didn’t even make the effort to dress for the occasion, which we do feel was a touch disrespectful when absolutely everyone else did.

We don’t have the grudge against him many do, and we wish him well, but he didn’t win too many friends with that stunt and now sadly leaves with a lot of Rangers fans distinctly glad he’s moving on to pastures new.
