God help us, we’re going to attempt a match ratings for yet another Old Firm fail under this manager. You may wildly agree, you may scathingly disagree, but here we go without further ado:

McGregor:

Could have done better with the goal, flapped at it wildly, and once again, most half decent attempts at his goal these days go in. He is completely finished, as much as we love him. 2

Tavernier:

Guilty like many of switching off at the goal, and managed to hit the post which is more than some, but as per usual was unable to inspire his charges like a captain should. Produced two goals at Parkhead, and Maida didn’t have the freedom of Mount Florida but it isn’t enough, is it? 5

Goldson:

Again, switched off at the goal but till then was our best player in defence. Was getting to everything and winning it all. But after that he faded and looked vulnerable. 6

Davies:

Has been deeply exposed at this level, will be needing replaced in the summer. Neat and tidy to a point but just falls short badly of being good enough for Rangers and this was another one in which he looked shaky. The farce goal was on his side. 4

Barisic:

Some good crosses in here but tried to con the ref with a dive and was wild with a challenge or two. A mixed bag for the Croat. 5

Lundstram:

Barely even noticed him. Sluggish, off the pace and needs that surgery badly. 3

Raskin:

Energetic performance for a lad carrying a wee niggle, was winning a fair bit and doing some good work at the back as well. Also showed a nice turn of pace and got some attacks going. 7

Cantwell:

Some lovely pieces of individual play, and a few excellent balls to spread the play, as well as working hard defensively. He can hold his head high, but unfortunately he and Nico can’t win matches on their own. 7

Kent:

Oh dear. 0

Tillman:

A couple of neat touches but caught napping a lot and once again lost at this level. Did help out at the back and it cost him the match as he left injured early. 4

Morelos:

Oh dear. 0

Subs:

Scotty:

Brought on early for the ailing Tillman and unsurprisingly was the first shot on target to have any gravity. He gave us a lot of energy. Been horribly treated by Beale and is likely to leave this summer. 7

Sakala:

‘The other mob’ must laugh when he plays. If he was one of them, Rangers fans would mock the life out of him. One shot went out for a throw in, the other missed an open goal at 1 metre. He does try, he does, but he’s 99% completely useless. 2

Matondo:

Bright in fairness, once again tried to make his cameo count. 6

Yilmaz:

Did no worse than Barisic, and got a decent shot in too with his weaker foot. 6

Hagi:

No time to make impact.

Manager:

Michael Beale got yet another Old Firm wildly wrong as he started three players who don’t want to be at Rangers any more and it showed massively in two of them. As usual he left it too late to make meaningful subs, and as equal usual he looked lost. He took one of them off at HT but the damage was done. Left the hopeless Morelos on FAR too long. Is he the right man to challenge Celtic? We’re really not sure he has any notion of winning. Oh what we’d give to have Walter back again. 0
