Lundstram & Tillman dropped: predicted Rangers XI to face Killie
Big bold claims here...

Rangers have a major selection headache today, with worries over John Lundstram and Malik Tillman, not to mention the confirmed blows to Tom Lawrence and Kemar Roofe.

Ibrox Noise takes you through our predicted XI, in light of everything manager Michael Beale has been saying recently:

Goals… McGregor, but then every chance this boss will give McLaugh the nod too.

Defence:

Aside the (allegedly) returning John Souttar and Ridvan Yilmaz, we can’t see the back four being changed. So you know what they are already. Maybe Beale will spring a surprise and start both just for the banter.

Midfield:

This is where a bit of headache begins. Lundstram is an injury issue, Kamara is an attitude issue, Jack is a contract issue and mild fitness issue while Raskin is at least in good condition and ready to go. Todd Cantwell is also available. There’s also attitude, contract and fitness issue in Tillman. So this one is definitely tricky.

Attacking midfield:

Scotty Arfield is surely going to feature today, while we can’t see any place for the stricken Ianis Hagi, and Alex Lowry’s place is unclear too. Lawrence is out for the season.

Wings:

Kent left, Sakala right. Given we have no other options now aside Wright, those two have no one at all to push them.

Striker:

Well, it’ll be Morelos won’t it. Despite our protestations, we can’t see a place for Antonio under this manager.

So, your Ibrox Noise prediction:

McLaughlin; Tavernier, Goldson, Davies, Barisic; Raskin, Jack, Cantwell; Kent, Morelos, Sakala.

Why do we think he will indeed start McLaugh? Otherwise a completely refreshed midfield, and a rest for Lundstram and Tillman among others. We’re not keen on the forward line but we just cannot see Beale making changes here – he’s got his favourites and we reckon he’ll stick with them.

But he could surprise us? He could rip it all up from that final and finally make the hard changes the team needs, within the limits of the squad as it currently is?

Because while there are clearly weak spots in this squad, and a lot of them, Beale has the capacity to change things. He’s threatened it.

Is he all talk?
