Rangers have been credited with an interest in Hib striker Kevin Nisbet after the Scottish hitman, said to be a strong Celtic fan, surprised everyone by rejected Millwall despite the deal being all-but-confirmed.

The English Championship side had bid £2.3M which the Easter Road outfit accepted, and the forward passed the medical and agreed terms, only to change his mind at the last moment and release a statement saying he’s happy at Hibs, or in Scotland.

This has left some claiming he changed his mind through potential Rangers interest, and we are certainly intrigued by this if it is true.

He scored a sensational goal at Ibrox earlier this season, showing just what kind of talent he has – he and Hearts man Lawrence Shankland are certainly the best strikers in Scotland outside the Old Firm, but only yesterday Michael Beale suggested that Rangers already have the best strikers in Scotland in Morelos, Roofe and Colak and he’s not interested in any scorers from any of the other Premiership sides.

But that hasn’t stopped the rumours beginning that Rangers are interested in the move, with some sources adamant the 25-year-old is to be a shock signing for the Ibrox side before the end of the window.

The price is clear – £2.3M and not a penny less – so if Rangers do want to make a surprise move for him, they have three or so days to decide whether or not to bid the amount Hibs have confirmed is Nisbet’s price and if so, we’d then see if this is really happening.

It’s kind of hearsay at this point, we’re not overly trusting this one, but nuttier things have happened in Scottish football and most Ibrox fans would endorse the signing.

But as we face off v St Johnstone, could Kevin Nisbet really be in transit to making a stunning switch to Govan, especially as he’s a fan of the other team?

Time will tell, but Rangers could use depth alright, and with just Morelos and Colak fit, one more number up front with experience at this level would not be unwelcome.

  1. No thank you at that price, but most importantly of his penchant for all things green. Not Mojo . He’s headed to the rotten mob. On another note if its true Watford paid only £450,000 for Porteous . Now that was a mistake by us if that’s true ffs even though he wasn’t keen on coming to Ibrox.

  2. Hes no worth 2.3m,let him go to the eastenders he can keep the bench warm there where he belongs
