We had to laugh at Mutton this morning who came up in our newsfeeds, the man who suggested Rangers players who’d got to Sevilla, who’d played in sides getting to world cup finals, weren’t worth close to the £15M+ mark, now making a claim that Celtic’s Juranovic is easily a £25M player.

That Mutton had the gall to attack Rangers players’ posited values, such as Borna Barisic who, back in the day, was easily a £25M player for his exploits in the Europa League and regularity in 2018’s world cup finalist Croatia.

We get it, he’s a troll, and a Celtic pundit, but at what point did he look in the mirror and maybe wonder if what he’s saying actually added up? The problem is he has a prominent position in the media and what he says has value, rightly or wrongly, and while he has recently stepped back a little from trolling at Rangers, nevertheless the man spouts nonsense.

Same guy who derided Rangers’ Calvin Bassey by suggesting Vickers was the best player in the Scottish Premiership last season, when we didn’t see too many bids for the American.

Our point?

It’s true, what a Celtic troll says is irrelevant, but the problem is so many Rangers fans get wound up by his comments, and we hear so many supporters on our platforms digging at him, as well as the fact he has some influence as we say, that it’s worth noting.

Celtic probably will get around £25M for Juranovic – at Ibrox Noise we’re always honest and can say they’d probably get that amount, just like we did for Bassey who was a stellar standout last season.

But it’s the derision of Rangers’ players by the likes of him that bug us, not because he said it, but because it travels, by our fans, and via social media, and gains credibility and weight.

As for Barisic today? Yeah, we’d be extremely fortunately to get £5M for this version of him, he’s not the player he was, even if he had a decent outing v Japan.

But back in the day? Rangers’ main LB was a valuable asset for sure.
