Michael Beale makes shock Ibrox announcement that will stun Rangers fans
Beale has a big call to make....

Michael Beale has delivered a shock revelation for Rangers fans, after revealing BOTH Connor Goldson AND Ben Davies are strongly likely to be fit for Hibernian!

In a stunning twist for fans, who certainly were under the impression Goldson wouldn’t be fit till near March, the reliable defender is way, WAY ahead of schedule and could staggeringly feature against Hibs alongside the similarly-close Davies.

Against Liverpool in the first half the Goldson Davies combo was starting to really motor, and there’s no shock Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s-then Rangers was matching the visitors 1-1. It’s when Goldson got injured, this was the downfall in that one.

Since then, the defensive crisis has been a disaster, with the side having to rely on James Sands and Leon King almost exclusively, with a total lack of bodies there, but Goldson and Davies’ return would be a GIGANTIC shot in the arm for the team, with midfield and attack looking decent at the moment.

It’s that defence that’s been so threadbare these past few months, but the incredible return of Rangers’ best duo ahead of schedule is a big fillip to say the least.

Manager Michael Beale said:

“If everything goes to plan I will have four options not two on Thursday. It’s just where they’ll be at physically. But Ben and Connor, the plan is in the next 24 to 48 hours they return to training, which will be hugely important to the group.”

This would be a truly incredible shift, with the indispensability of Goldson starting to look understandable, and alongside the player he probably performs the best with. There’s no ETA yet on Helander or Souttar, but Goldson and Davies are viewed as the main two now in defence.

Their return next week would be a truly game-changing moment for Rangers and give the manager some real depth of options at the rear at long last, with it being late summer since Ibrox was able to boast more than one genuine option at the back, if even that.

Of course, Gio would have killed for this situation to have benefited him at Ibrox instead…
