Ryan Kent has a decision to make. Ibrox Noise understands that he has been offered a clear new contract, but is sitting on it with a choice to ponder.

Speculation in the press about Turkey is out there and may encourage Kent to make a decision about his future in the here and now, but if there was a move he’d want, it would be the PL.

Having seen Joe Aribo go for a little less than his market value to a PL club, the club does not want Ryan Kent running his deal down and potentially leaving for zero next summer, so the onus is on the winger to make a decision now.

From what we understand, he is happy at Rangers, but is also aware signing a new deal, at his age, 25, will pretty much close the door on a move to the PL and commit him to effectively the best years of his career at Rangers.

Which he isn’t against, but it is a big decision when you’ve harboured hopes of the PL and there remain rumblings about Leeds United now they’ve sold Rafinha.

Kent is settled in Scotland (even more so these days) but hasn’t shut the door on the PL.

The chances are he will sign the deal this window if he isn’t offered something good from the PL before the window closes, but it’s up in the air.

Kent is committed to Rangers in the sense he’s happy here, and always has been – he’d have no qualms spending his career here. But if there was a PL offer on the table, he’d probably kick himself to sign the deal and learn he could have had Leeds/PL.

Every English player worth his salt wants to give the PL a shot, and Kent is no different, but it’s that decision between sacrificing that for good and signing for us long term, or not.

As for Turkey – we couldn’t tell you if his agents put that out there, or the club did, but it’s creating a lot of chat.

Kent isn’t under massive pressure, but an announcement soon would be nice.

  1. If Kent can’t get the EPL after his performances on the big stage last season then it’ll probably never happen for him. But I don’t see why signing a new contract would stop him getting to the EPL but it would ensure the club get the right kind of money for him. I think we deserve that given the platform we gave him to launch his career.

  2. If anybody wanted the lad it would probably be easier for him ,however both he and morelos who are desperate to go to england are suffering from the goldson effect …..no one really wants them …
It looks like they will just need to sign on the dotted line and receive massive wages playing for a massive club ,the adulation of thousands of fans ,winning trophies and playing in europe .
My heart goes out to these poor guys .
Dont know they are born .

  3. They want higher wages than they would get if they signed a deal ,as ALL the money goes to them ,plus makes them more attractive to a buyer -no fee .
They dont care about club getting fee .

  4. Don’t know if this is True or not,but I read recently that he Bought a House here with his Scottish Girlfriend, and brought up his Horses. That doesn’t sound like that is Someone wanting to leave, that’s Someone wanting to Stay

  5. YES I’d want Kenty to stay but for the club and supporters need to know now if he is staying or going because we need a settled team NOW for the massive games coming up for the C L.
So Kenty do the right thing if you want to go ,go so we can get a replacement you owe it to us THE SUPPORTERS who praise you evey week!
