Celtic £50M shocker forces major rethink at Ibrox

The biggest, most hideously cruel irony about the likelihood that the league is gone is that Rangers’ hard work of the last 4 years in Europe to gain a guaranteed CL spot for Scotland goes to… Celtic.

We have just laboured for 4 years in Europe, achieving incredible heights, and Celtic kept losing in the Eurocontinental chicken league or whatever it’s called, all so we’d get that CL spot guaranteed for winning the league.

But it will go to Celtic.

Celtic, right now, must be laughing their arses off at us, make no mistake.

We just gifted them £50M, on top of the millions they already have for selling Dembele, Tierney, Ajer and French Eddie (combined total there of just under £100M) and literally laid the red carpet for them to take our prize.

The one we earned so hard.

If nothing else provokes a serious rethink and change over the summer, that’s it.

Now, we may still get that £50M ourselves, by qualifying through the CL playoffs, or by winning the UEL (fat chance without Alfie), but regardless, we’ve made their lives much much easier and that’s a deeply bitter pill to swallow.

Celtic are absolutely shambolic in Europe, and would never have got past the qualifiers – they’re a disaster at the Meatloaf Euro level for heaven’s sake.

So we’ve just gifted them the money they don’t need and we do, and they’ll almost certainly dine at Europe’s top table.

Pretty much for free.

On our backs.

We grafted for half a decade for this, and they just take it.

Sickening.

  1. The only thing to take from it now is we will start at the C.L 3rd qlfy round, instead of the 2nd. As i think out co effiecient boosted scotlands lge runners up spot a notch. Im noy 100% sure on that of thats for next season or season after that.

  3. I agree 100% with the post. However, we knew this would probably be the case at the start of the season if we did not win the league.
    Sickening to say the least.
    I only hope we take them in the cup match and at the Piggery.
    Also we are still in Europe and have a draw we can win.
