Rangers have completely bounced back from Celtic thumping
He's focused on Sunday and only Sunday.....

Whisper it – Rangers are in form again. After the traditional new year blip, Giovanni van Bronckhorst has done what the last manager could not following Hogmanay, and got his side firing again.

Sure, there was a lull – County, Sheep and Celtic were all bad, and no one is going to spin that any differently.

But since making a big statement v Hearts, and following it up with a solid win over Hibs despite losing Leon Balogun, Rangers have gone onto stroll over Annan making it 3 wins on the bounce without a goal conceded.

10 goals in 3 matches.

And consequently the ludicrous ‘sack Gio’ comments we got from a sizeable minority of ‘fans’ (in truth it was pretty much the majority of comments we saw) have piped down unsurprisingly.

A lot of supporters who suddenly came out with ‘I never believed in Gio, knew he was the wrong man’ have gone quiet since that bad night, probably having forgotten their embarrassing words as soon as the first goal went in v Hearts.

But we digress.

Rangers are back in a run of form. The country’s third-best side was swept away by Gio’s men, and while Hibs and Annan are not quite Real Madrid, Rangers got clean sheets against both as well as v Robbie Neilson’s lot, and that’s a very promising sign.

Long may it continue and long may Rangers keep playing like this.

  1. How refreshing it was yesterday to see GVB utilising the whole squad especially young players , resting 1st Team regulars and of course getting key returnees critical minutes. Gerrard never did that to that amount. He tinkered only. I have always had total faith in GVB . Superb after Sakalas brilliant goal to see all of the coaches laughing and smiling with Fashion .

  2. Gio is doing a brilliant job keep up the good work boss and players have played to there best ability after the celtic game watp RTID

  3. January was always going to be tough, we lost arguably our two best players this season and definitely the two best performers under Gio. Now that AFCON is over and Columbia aren’t insulting our main man we’re back to firing on all cylinders. Long may it continue!
