The Scottish media have once again misrepresented comments about Rangers, turning a show of respect into a condescending attack, as Borussia’s Axel Witsel expresses his thoughts to the press.
The midfielder was part of the first leg demolition which saw his side destroyed at home, but suggests he has belief his team can turn it around:
However, the Scottish press turned it into ‘Axel Witsel warns Rangers of backlash’.
In reality, the Belgian star showed Rangers complete respect, and gave the visitors credit for how we played, even if he admitted his side’s performance was not at its best.
He added:
This is further respect, admitting the 12th man will very much be in force.
But if you listen to the headlines in our glorious rags, he’s dismissed Rangers, warned us his side will destroy us at Ibrox and given us no credit for the win.
Ah, our press. Don’t you love it?
It’s getting disgustingly repetitive, disrespecting and hateful against all things Rangers , British and not SNP. We need to rise above this vile .
