Stunning new stat could add millions to Borna Barisic’s value
TILBURG, NETHERLANDS - SEPTEMBER 24: Ryan Kent of Rangers celebrates with teammate Borna Barisic after scoring his team's second goal during the UEFA Europa League third qualifying round match between Willem II and Glasgow Rangers at Koning Willem II Stadium on September 24, 2020 in Tilburg, Netherlands. While there has been so much news about James Tavernier recently, his opposite number Borna Barisic seems to have been rather forgotten in all the hullaballoo.

But in a stunning new stat, Barisic has shown his true quality by topping the total assists charts for the past three seasons in the Europa League, at 8, since the summer of 2018 in the Rangers shirt.

Only Braga’s Galeno, also on 8, manages to match the Croat, and following all the attention on other assets in Rangers’ side, it’s nice to remember we still have a world class left back too, even if his form this season hasn’t been absolutely magical.

Or are we just utterly spoiled by his level, given he already has 5 assists for the season in all competitions.

Either way, it makes for excellent reading, to see our Croat international still at the top of the significant charts, and long may it continue.
