The Sun newspaper was once again left with egg on its face today after writing Rangers off and postulating the worst case group scenario for Arsenal, which included Rangers’ latest victims Galatasaray.

The Europa League draw for the group stage takes place tomorrow and Rangers of course will be in it, but the Sun, as you can see, was arrogant with its presumption the Turks would win, whereas Ibrox Noise informed you Rangers were likely to be favourites to in fact progress to the group stage.

But it’s the national scourge of the red top left looking foolish after it casually wrote the Famous off and just assumed the Turks would be in the group stage.

Despite a late surge from Falcao’s lot, their finish was just a consolation goal and it’s Rangers in the hat for the next round.

Well, not according to the Sun….
