Steven Gerrard appeared to make a big statement to one Rangers man today

Following Mark Allen’s immediate dive towards Scott Arfield, post-match a lot of things were happening out there at Ibrox, and another one very tangibly was emotionally diametrically opposed to Allen’s move.

As Steven Gerrard shook Jon Flanagan’s hand and hugged to congratulate him over the result, Joe Worrall’s conspicuous presence next to the ex-Liverpool defender was completely ignored and Stevie appeared to disregard him entirely.

Patting other subs on the back, Gerrard’s complete apparent ignoring of Worrall may drop a big hint as to why the Forest defender found himself completely axed – whatever the true reason behind his sudden dropping from the first team, it is evidently final and Gerrard is done with him.

In truth Nikola Katic has been pretty good these past few matches, and has vindicated his return, but that Stevie appeared to be barely able to look at the on loan man far less shake his hand seemed quite telling.

The only surprise is he’s not already been sent back to the City Ground, in truth.
