Four club 6-figure shoot out in bidding war for Rangers forward

Following hot on the heels of both Preston and Wigan’s failed bids for winger Josh Windass, Sheffield United have similarly had a six-figure sum rejected.

While reports claim it to be around £500,000, that is the ballpark of Preston’s bid and is likely to have been significantly higher, but Rangers are said to be holding out for the seven figures they believe the 23-year old attacker is worth.

The bidding war Ibrox Noise suggested would start on the former Accrington man is well and truly underway, and if any of the three reported suitors should get close to or meet the valuation Rangers have put on Windass’ head, he is a definite sale this month.

Windass’ future has been under huge speculation ever since Hull were linked with a £500k bid last summer which did not materialise, and now at least three other English sides are in the hunt for his signature.

It is surely a matter of time before an acceptable bid arrives and the front man makes his way back to England.

  1. We don’t need to sell and he has a £3.5million buy out clause. If they want him so badly, the 1st team to offfer it gets him. Simples

  2. Typical of English teams trying to buy from Scottish teams on the cheap. Just say he is not for sale and end it, the boy has had a lot of stick but he has played most of his games out of position and I really think he is a good player that would cost more than we receive to replace him.

  3. Nobody is going to offer £3.5 million though, are they? If we get half that we should take the money and run.

  4. That's what's wrong with the world while English teams pay each other astronomical amounts of money for players. Any talent we have they offer us Pittence that's just what they think of our football.so fuck them I'd slap a 3 million price tag on him and if they want him they will pay it if not tuff.

  5. Take the money, he is such a liability! We can't have a player who consistently turns up for 20 minutes then hides!! Get rid!!

If they pay GLASGOW RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB what they are pricing a player at. Then we don't sell

    End of

Time to stand up the same as Hibs, Hearts,Aberdeen,Dundde Utd and yes Celtic do

Pay the price or piss off

The same as Norwich, Aberdeen etc tell US

    • Brian, it's all part of business to try and get the best price for an asset, I get that. No doubt Rangers will take the full Jan window before deciding to offload Windass, unless the asking price is given.
However, the asking price will never be given as Windass is just not of value in the millions, therefore, I'd get rid just to free the wages up as he gives our team nothing as expected of a Rangers player, no where near.

I was delighted when Rangers refused to be held ransom by hearts regarding Jamie Walker. They wanted 1 million, we offered £600,000. Hearts refused. Which I'm glad because the rat thinks Wigan is bigger than Rangers. Saying that, Walker is a far better player than Windass and is going for £300,000.
Windass is pish. Get him off the wage bill and get a talented and committed grafter in, End of!!!

  7. 3.5M for Windass are U all royally mental.

If anybody offers anywhere near a 1m bite both there hands off and kiss there arse!!
