Muscat & Bosz ‘drop out’ of Rangers manager race leaving Michael Beale

It appears Michael Beale is set to be new manager of Rangers after a host of managerial candidates fell by the wayside in the past 24+ hours.
The former assistant at Ibrox is said to be keen on coming to Rangers, which is no surprise given he’s been keen to return since he left, but reports suggest if Rangers make him the offer, he will accept and Ibrox will have a new manager before long.
This means a goodbye to candidates like Peter Bosz, Kevin Muscat, Sean Dyche, Ralph Hasenhuttl, and a fair few others to be linked in recent days, with the current Loftus Road manager said to be top priority now, even if compensation claims made yesterday’s aren’t quite true yet.
It seems inevitable Beale will become new manager, with Les Ferdinand admitting he wouldn’t block the man’s path if he wants to leave – but of course it does rather contradict Beale’s assertion he had ‘unfinished business’ in London, which would be disappointing for QPR fans.
Indeed, the harsh reality is he’d be doing what Gerrard did at Rangers, saying one thing then leaving shortly after, at pretty much the same time in the season.
Reality?
It is what it is, and we’ve benefited and suffered in equal measure from this happening in football – Dundee suffered Kamara downing tools to join us, now it’s our turn to see it happening from the Finn. It is just part and parcel of the game and we will always benefit and suffer it as and when.
Is Beale the right man – well, he’s Ibrox Noise’s preferred candidate of all the choices, given he knows the SPL better than any of them, Rangers better than any of them, and was the main architect of 55 and our European exploits.
But hey, we will all have our preferences and time will tell what Rangers’ board goes with, but it looks like being the former Liverpool youth coach.
We do agree on getting a Scottish Rangers assistant – Neil McCann would be a hugely popular choice to have in there, and hopefully whoever gets the job will get such a partner.
