Giovanni van Bronckhorst has FINALLY bolstered Rangers’ attack with confirmation Kemar Roofe is ready for minutes and is likely to feature tomorrow night.

The Jamaican international has been out injured for the best part of six months+ and was expected to leave in the summer amid rumours over his attitude and mental strength, but this news confirms Gio expects him available tomorrow night and he may even start.

The 29-year old is a fantastically talented forward, with a natural eye for goal and a superb work ethic, but his predilection for injury is a big problem and sees him more unavailable than not, hence those summer stories that Rangers had run out of patience with him.

But he’s finally back, and with no convincing options on Rangers’ right hand side of the flanks, Roofe can very much fill in there, Rabbi Matondo not having got going yet and Fashion Sakala being the remaining possibility.

It’s further squad depth which we desperately need these days – the wing options aren’t very good right now despite the number of players we have for them, and Roofe is a guaranteed performer, give or take.

Significantly, his goal stats since joining Rangers are very solid – 34 in 72 outings, which is just under one in two – but for assists he’s absolutely nowhere near it, a lot worse than even Ryan Kent at his worst – he’s never managed more than two in a season for Rangers.

So if we want him to be a supplier, it’s not happening – but he does cause havoc with his workrate and pace and Rangers are stronger for him in the side.
